I’ll keep holding On
Song Lyrics (top) from “Keep Holding On” - Avril Song.Journaling (bottom) mine:I’d like to imagine the song above is a conversation between God and I. I’m being my usual self, pessimistic, stubborn, worried as always. And He’s telling me that He is here for ME. He will help me make it through. He wants me to keep holding on, be patient. In my book, I’d like to think I’ve been patient enough. Patient about what? Well, I’ve had epilepsy since I was eight years old… so for 17 years (almost 18), I’ve been an epileptic. That’s right. No matter how much my family prayed and pleaded, I unfortunately was not one of the lucky ones that was able to outgrow them, one of those that had seizures that were easily controlled. Nope, I’ve always been difficult. To this day, I’ve only gone a total, nonconsecutive, of just over two years without seizures. In my early tweens, I was able to go off the meds after being seizure free for 1 year, but soon after, they started again… so the meds came back into my life. Since then I’ve flipped from Medication to medication as the doctors tried to find my perfect fit. While, they are currently controlled by a heavy dosage of multiple meds, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to be drug-free. I will make it through.
